Released as Breitling folded its "Colt" sub-line into the Superocean name for good, the A17345 arrived as a standalone professional diver in its own right — COSC-certified, rated to 1,524 metres, and equipped with the automatic helium escape valve that had defined the line since the 1980s. The matte black dial, with its bold luminous Arabic numerals and inner 24-hour military-style track, was built for legibility over decoration, while the applied 18k gold "B"-wing logo added a small but deliberate flourish of craftsmanship to an otherwise tool-first design. Inside, the COSC-certified calibre 17 — built on the dependable ETA 2824-2 base — has proven itself over two decades of service, a testament to why these early-2000s Superoceans remain a favourite among collectors who want vintage character without vintage fragility.
