Date, Weekday, Month, Moon phase
Vacheron Constantin was founded in Geneva in 1755, which makes it the oldest watch manufacture that has worked without interruption. A house with that long a record has had plenty of time to learn how to show a calendar, and the triple calendar with moon phase is a layout that suits its dress watches very well. The 37150 was launched in 1990, in a size of 36mm that was already considered classical then and still looks right today.
The day sits in a window on the left and the month on the right, the date runs along the outer track where a slim pointer with a small blue crescent at its tip points it out, and below them the moon phase sits in its own round aperture, with a blue sky and gold stars behind the moon. The silvered dial stays calm around all this, with gold numerals at 12, 9 and 3 and baton markers between them. The flared lugs and the yellow gold pin buckle on a black alligator strap belong to the same quiet idea, so nothing shouts.
