Launched in 1969, the Oyster Prince "Date+Day" was Tudor's answer to the Rolex Day-Date, sharing the same Rolex-made Oyster case and screw-down crown but running a more affordable automatic ébauche movement rather than an in-house caliber. Its 38mm case earned it the "Jumbo" nickname among collectors, since it ran notably larger than the standard Rolex Day-Date of the period.
This example carries the blue dial with luminous baton hour markers, a French-language day wheel in the aperture at 12, and date at 3, fitted to its steel Oyster bracelet. It offers an accessible route into the Rolex-family case-making tradition, at a fraction of the cost of the equivalent gold Rolex model.
