The Rolex Submariner ref. 124060 is one of the purest modern Rolex sports watches because it preserves the original no-date Submariner idea in its most direct form. There is no Cyclops, no date window, and no unnecessary interruption to the symmetry of the dial. That simplicity is exactly what gives the watch its strength. In the current 41 mm Oystersteel case, the 124060 keeps the visual authority of the modern Submariner generation, but it also retains the clean, instrument-first character that many collectors consider essential to the model. Rolex itself continues to present the Submariner as the archetype of the diving watch, and the 124060 expresses that role in its most stripped-back and convincing way.
