The Omega Speedmaster Professional Gemini IV 40th Anniversary ref. 3565.80.00 is one of the most distinctive limited-edition Moonwatches of the 2000s. Produced in 2005 in a limited series of 2,005 pieces, it commemorates the 40th anniversary of the 1965 Gemini IV mission, during which Ed White became the first American to perform a spacewalk. The watch keeps the essential Moonwatch formula, a 42 mm stainless steel case, Hesalite crystal, manual-winding chronograph movement, tachymeter bezel, and steel bracelet, but gives it a much rarer and more colourful identity. The appeal of this edition lies above all in its blue-panda dial. The deep blue dial and bezel are contrasted by silver-white sub-dials, while the red “1965–2005” inscription gives the watch a direct historical link to the Gemini IV anniversary. The commemorative caseback, marked “Gemini 4 First Space Walk” and “McDivitt White,” reinforces the connection to one of NASA’s defining missions. Powered by the hand-wound Omega calibre 1861, this Speedmaster is both faithful to the Moonwatch tradition and visually distinct from the standard black-dial Professional. Limited, historically meaningful, and instantly recognizable, the Gemini IV 3565.80.00 has become one of the most charismatic neo-vintage Speedmaster editions. Offered as a full set with original box and papers from 2005.
