The Omega Speedmaster Moonphase “Blue Side of the Moon” ref. 304.93.44.52.03.001 is a highly contemporary interpretation of the Speedmaster, combining the familiar Moonwatch-derived chronograph architecture with a full blue ceramic case and a more elaborate calendar-and-moonphase display. Its 44.25 mm case gives the watch real presence, while the blue ceramic bezel and grey-blue dial create a cooler, more technical aesthetic than the traditional steel Speedmaster. The dial remains balanced despite the added information, with the chronograph indications, moonphase at 6 o’clock, and pointer date display integrated into a composition that still reads cleanly and clearly. Inside is Omega’s calibre 9904, a Co-Axial Master Chronometer automatic movement that gives the watch both strong daily-wear practicality and the higher-spec mechanical content expected of the modern ceramic Speedmaster line. In this Blue Side of the Moon execution, the watch feels more architectural and more design-led than a conventional Speedmaster, but it keeps the collection’s essential sporting identity intact through its tachymeter bezel, chronograph display, and strong dial legibility. The result is a technically ambitious Speedmaster with a distinctly modern personality; bold in material, rich in function, and immediately recognisable within Omega’s ceramic Moonphase family.
