The Patek Philippe 3960J is the anniversary Officer Calatrava created for the maison’s 150th year, and it captures an early wristwatch vocabulary in a modern Patek execution. The 33 mm yellow gold case uses screw set lugs and a hinged officer back, opening to reveal the commemorative engraving and the movement number, a detail that anchors the watch directly to the 1989 anniversary series limited to 2,000 pieces. Mechanically, the watch stays deliberately pure with the manually wound calibre 215 and a time only display with small seconds at 6 o’clock. The proportions are the point, slim around 8 mm and compact at 33 mm, with sapphire crystal and the restrained, classical dial language that makes the 3960J one of the most recognizable modern Officer references.
