The Rolex Chronographe Télémètre ref. 2811 is a rare, early Rolex chronograph from the 1930s, defined by its compact 32mm steel case and a multi-scale dial built for measurement, not decoration. Introduced around 1930, its simple design held its own against chronographs from houses such as Patek Philippe and Longines. Good to know: in the 1940s the lozenge-shaped pushers gave way to rectangular ones, which makes lozenge pushers a trait of the early versions. This example is especially appealing to collectors because the dial is double signed, Rolex and Verga, the Milan retailer that sold the watch, a detail seen on select period pieces and valued for its provenance and character.

A key point on this watch is the work completed by the Rolex Atelier de Restauration in Geneva. The case received refreshed polishing and satin finishing with restoration of the lugs. The Plexiglas crystal was replaced like-for-like, and the crown, crown tube and pushers were replaced with components of identical specification. The dial was not touched; only the three counter hands were replaced. The movement was fully restored with disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, chronograph component restoration, lubrication, regulation and final Rolex quality controls. The watch comes with the Rolex Atelier de Restauration box, service papers and the full restoration documents with pictures.
