The Sea-Dweller is the Submariner's deeper, more serious sibling, built for saturation divers who spend days in pressurised habitats. Where the Submariner is rated to 300m, the reference 16600 is guaranteed to 1,220m, and it carries a helium escape valve on the case flank, a one-way valve that lets helium bleed out safely during decompression so the crystal doesn't blow off. To keep the case that strong, there is no Cyclops over the date.
This is a 1993 example, an early one of the 16600 that succeeded the 16660 in 1988, with the tritium dial of the period marked Swiss-T<25, its dial softened over the years from black toward a warm tropical brown, and matching cream patina on the plots and hands. It is a proper tool watch, over-engineered far beyond anything its owner will ever ask of it.
