The Datejust is the most classic Rolex of all, but this one carries a rare and coveted extra: a dial co-signed by Tiffany & Co. In the era before authorised dealers were tightly controlled, a handful of the great American retailers, Tiffany chief among them, were permitted to add their own name to the dial of the watches they sold, always discreetly, above six o'clock. Those double-signed dials are among the most sought details in the vintage Rolex world.
This is the 36mm Datejust in steel and yellow gold, with the fluted gold bezel, the black dial with its Tiffany signature, and the Jubilee bracelet the model has worn since 1945. It is the everyman Rolex made quietly special by three small words on the dial.
