The Land-Dweller was introduced by Rolex at Watches and Wonders in 2025, as a reinterpretation in mechanical form of the Oysterquartz of the 1970s, and it is the first new Oyster Perpetual family in years. Its name follows the Sea-Dweller and the Sky-Dweller, and it is the one for everyday life on land. The Land-Dweller 36 is made with a case of Oystersteel with a fluted bezel in white gold, on an integrated flat Jubilee bracelet whose links run straight out of the case.
The detail that deserves attention is inside. The calibre 7135 runs at 5 Hz, faster than the usual 4 Hz of Rolex, which allows the seconds hand to move in tenths of a second, and it has a new escapement called Dynapulse, made of silicon and designed to waste less energy. The result is a power reserve of about 66 hours with a chronometer rating of minus 2 to plus 2 seconds a day. The dial carries the other new idea, a honeycomb relief pattern in white with Arabic numerals at 9 and 6, and the date at 3.
