Rolex introduced the Yacht-Master in 1992 as a more refined alternative to the Submariner, with a fully polished case and a bezel with raised numerals. The Rolesium combination of Oystersteel and platinum is exclusive to the line. Since the 2019 update, the 40mm model has been offered only with a blue or dark rhodium dial, after the sandblasted platinum dial was dropped.
This example has the blue sunray dial with red seconds hand and red Yacht-Master signature, with Mercedes hands and Chromalight markers that glow blue. The 126622 replaced the 116622 with the caliber 3235, which extends the power reserve from about 48 to about 70 hours. The bidirectional bezel is solid 950 platinum, a softer metal than the ceramic used on most current Rolex sports models, and the watch sits on an Oyster bracelet with Easylink extension.
