When Rolex launched the Datejust in 1945 for its 40th anniversary, it was the first self-winding, waterproof chronometer wristwatch to show the date in a window at three o'clock. The Jubilee bracelet was created for the occasion and named after it, which is why the five-link Jubilee and the fluted bezel still define the Datejust today. The 36mm size you see here is the original case size.
This 2019 example belongs to the generation Rolex introduced in 2018 around the caliber 3235. The new movement replaced more than 90% of the parts of the long-running 3135, adding the Chronergy escapement, a Parachrom hairspring and about 70 hours of power reserve. The blue sunray dial and white gold baton indices sit beneath an 18k white gold fluted bezel on an Oystersteel case, a combination Rolex calls White Rolesor.
