Jaeger-LeCoultre designed the Reverso in 1931 for polo players in British India, giving it a case that slides in its cradle and flips over, so the dial could be turned away and protected behind a solid metal back during a match. This is the small model in steel, the Reverso at its most essential: a silvered dial with printed Arabic numerals, a fine railway minute track and blued hands, signed simply Reverso.
Turn the case and the reverse is a plain polished panel. On a tan alligator strap, it wears small and elegant, an Art Deco design that has never left production because it has never needed to change.
