The Breitling Navitimer Olympus ref. A19340 is one of the most characterful complicated Navitimers of the early 2000s because it takes the already dense, highly recognizable language of the classic aviation chronograph and pushes it into far more ambitious territory. The slide rule bezel, chronograph layout, and busy cockpit style dial remain unmistakably Navitimer, but the addition of a moon phase and four year calendar gives the watch a much richer personality than the standard chronograph references. That is exactly what makes the Olympus so appealing. It does not try to simplify the Navitimer formula. Instead, it embraces complexity and turns it into part of the watch’s charm. In this white dial configuration, that complexity remains surprisingly legible, with the pale surface helping separate the scales, registers, and calendar indications while preserving the technical presence collectors want from a serious Breitling. What makes the A19340 especially interesting is the movement inside. The calibre 19 is one of Breitling’s classic modular complicated chronograph calibres, bringing together automatic winding, chronograph functions, moon phase, and a four year full calendar in a way that feels very much of its era. With a power reserve of approximately 42 hours, it may not be minimalist in any sense, but that is precisely the point. The Navitimer Olympus is a watch for collectors who enjoy mechanical density, visual information, and the particular confidence of a Breitling that does not hold anything back. On a blue leather strap, this example gains a slightly softer and more elegant tone, but it still reads first and foremost as a true instrument style complication with real wrist presence.
