The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Perpetual ref. 140.6.80 is a restrained high-complication watch built in the classical Master Control language, but rendered here in platinum with the added rarity of a 250-piece limited edition. Its 37 mm case keeps the profile elegant and compact, while the hinged back and sapphire display back add a more elaborate, almost hidden layer of mechanical interest beneath an otherwise sober exterior. The blue dial gives the watch unusual depth for the period, setting off the perpetual calendar indications with a richer, more contemporary tone than the more familiar silver-dial executions. The display combines perpetual calendar, moon phases, year indication, day/night indication, and centre seconds in a format that remains balanced and legible rather than crowded. Powered by an automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre movement and finished on a black leather strap with platinum deployant clasp, the ref. 140.6.80 expresses the discreet, technically serious side of late-1990s Jaeger-LeCoultre; refined in size, substantial in material, and quietly impressive in complication.
