Following the 2016 debut of their first Magritte-themed Reverso, featuring "The Treachery of Images," Jaeger-LeCoultre and Brussels jeweler Maison De Greef continued their tribute to the Belgian surrealist with this second instalment, produced in close collaboration with the Magritte Foundation. Rather than a case-back engraving, this piece brings the artwork to the reversible case's reverse face as a lacquered rendering: a bird's silhouette entirely filled with sky and drifting clouds, a visual paradox drawn from Magritte's "La Grande Famille."
Cased in steel, it pairs the Reverso's Art Deco lines and reeded case ends with genuine museum-piece imagery, executed through the same reversible mechanism polo players once relied on to protect their watch crystals. Fitted to a dark blue alligator strap with a steel double-fold clasp, it's a rare crossover between horology and fine art, limited to a run of 33 pieces.
The watch is delivered with all items shown in the photographs.
