Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Duomètre collection in 2007 around a genuinely new mechanical concept: the "Dual-Wing" construction, where two entirely independent gear trains, one for timekeeping, one for the chronograph, share only a single regulating organ. Because the chronograph has no coupling clutch to the time-display train, activating it never disturbs the accuracy of the running time, and the caliber 380 reads chronograph times to the nearest sixth of a second via a jumping seconds hand, a level of precision unusual for a mechanical wrist chronograph.
This example is cased in 18k pink gold, with the collection's signature off-center silvered dial: hours and minutes sit in their own subdial at 12, while the chronograph counters and twin power-reserve indicators, one for the time train, one for the chronograph, occupy the rest of the layout. Fitted to a brown alligator strap with matching gold double-fold clasp, it represents one of the more technically original chronograph architectures introduced this century.
