The Heuer Silverstone ref. 110.313R was introduced in the mid-1970s as the successor to the Monaco, softening its predecessor's angular case into the cushion-shaped silhouette that became the Silverstone's signature. Named after the British race track, it was the first Heuer chronograph to carry a circuit name, a naming convention Heuer would later reuse for the Daytona, Monza and Jarama. The red dial variant seen here was the only Heuer chronograph ever produced with a red dial, and it has since become one of the most coveted vintage Heuer references on the collector market.
The cushion-shaped stainless-steel case, burgundy dial with its distinctive red chapter ring, and crown positioned at 9 o'clock with fluted pushers at 2 and 4 give the watch an unmistakable 1970s motorsport character. Inside is the automatic Heuer calibre 12, a micro-rotor chronograph movement shared with the Monaco and Carrera of the same era, driving the 30-minute and 12-hour registers along with a date aperture at 6 o'clock. Combined with its rare red dial, cushion case and period-correct steel bracelet, this Silverstone ref. 110.313R stands as one of the defining vintage Heuer chronographs of the decade.
