The Girard-Perregaux Ferrari Chronograph ref. 8020 is one of the most recognisable 1990s GP–Ferrari collaborations; compact at 38mm, but visually rich, with the Cavallino Rampante at 12 and a tri-compax dial that keeps the information dense yet readable. The layout is classic and practical, with running seconds at 3, a 12-hour chronograph counter at 6, a 30-minute counter at 9, and a date window set between 4 and 5 o’clock. The steel case is fitted with a sapphire crystal, measures about 45mm lug-to-lug and 12.9mm thick, and carries a 3 ATM rating suited to careful daily wear. Power comes from the automatic calibre 2280, widely described as an ETA 2892-A2 base with a Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module, modified to Girard-Perregaux standards; a very period-correct solution that delivers the Ferrari-branded character with real everyday usability.
