Rolex reworked the entire Daytona line in 2023 for the model's 60th anniversary, slimming the hour markers and sub-dial rings and replacing the calibre 4130 with the new 4131. The 126508 is the yellow gold version on a matching gold Oyster bracelet, and unlike the ceramic-bezel models it keeps a solid 18k gold bezel with an engraved tachymeter scale. This one carries the bright green sunburst dial with gold counters, the configuration collectors have taken to calling the "John Mayer" after the musician who championed it.
Green over gold should not work, yet the sunburst shifts from emerald to near-black as light moves across it, with 18k gold applied markers and Chromalight keeping it legible. Inside runs the calibre 4131, an automatic chronograph with a column wheel, roughly 72 hours of reserve and Superlative Chronometer rating. Solid gold throughout, from case to bezel to bracelet, it is among the most sought-after gold Daytonas in the current catalogue.
