This is a Swiss minute-repeating chronograph signed "Travail Suisse," in the grand tradition of turn-of-the-century complicated pocket watches, its 18k gold cuvette engraved "Répétition à Minutes / Chronographe" and embossed with the exhibition medals makers used to advertise their prizes. Open the back and both mechanisms are on show: the rack, hammers and gongs of the repeater around the rim, and the column wheel of the chronograph at the centre.
Two complications share one movement. A slide in the case chimes the time on demand, the hours, the quarters and the minutes, while a button works the chronograph over a white enamel dial with a tachymeter scale and blued steel hands. Minute repeaters use well over a hundred parts and hundreds of hours of hand work, which is why so few were made.
The watch is delivered with all items shown in the photographs.
