The Chopard Chronographe Rattrapante Special Edition Stopwatch ref. 50/8181 is a highly unusual mechanical timing instrument, built with the scale and presence of a classic sporting stopwatch rather than a conventional wristwatch. Its large stainless-steel case, white dial, and bold red tachymeter scale give it an immediately instrumental character, while the oversized crown and pushers reinforce its purpose-built identity. The dial is exceptionally open and legible, with large Arabic numerals, twin registers, and vivid red chronograph hands that give the piece real visual energy. At its centre is a manual-winding rattrapante chronograph movement, giving the stopwatch a far more advanced level of timing capability than a standard chronograph. The split-seconds display adds genuine mechanical interest, while the engraved caseback, numbered 055 out of 250 pieces and decorated with motoring, aviation, and nautical motifs, gives this special edition a distinct collector character. Mounted on its brown leather lanyard-style strap, the 50/8181 stands apart as a rare Chopard creation. Offered as a full set with original box and papers.
