The Santos was born in 1904, designed by Louis Cartier for the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, and is widely credited as one of the first purpose-built men's wristwatches at a time when pocket watches still dominated. The Santos Galbée, launched in the late 1970s, softened the original square case with rounder, curved lines while keeping the exposed bezel screws that remain the model's signature.
This example is the smaller 29mm steel reference, with a silver dial, Roman numerals, and blued sword hands, set on the matching steel bracelet with the model's characteristic screw-motif links. Its quartz movement makes it a low-maintenance, everyday alternative to Cartier's automatic Santos references.
The watch is delivered with all items shown in the photographs.
