The Patek Philippe ref. 3579/1 from 1973 is a highly interesting and uncommon vintage Patek Philippe. Rather than following the traditional round Calatrava format, this reference uses a tonneau-shaped stainless-steel case with a strong 1970s geometry. The blue dial, baton markers and clean two-hand display give the watch a restrained yet very distinctive character. Its design feels more architectural and slightly sportier than many of Patek Philippe’s classic dress watches from the same period.

Inside is the manually wound Patek Philippe calibre 23-300 PM, a refined and slim manufacture movement well suited to the elegant proportions of the case. This example is accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives, supporting its provenance and dating. With its steel case, blue dial, rare case shape and official archive documentation, the 3579/1 is an especially appealing Patek Philippe for collectors seeking a more unconventional vintage reference.
