The reference 25594 traces back to 1984, a direct descendant of the Royal Oak Day-Date launched the year before, with the moonphase aperture added to complete what became one of the line's most beloved layouts. The pointer-date subdial at 3, day subdial at 9, and moonphase at 6 arrange themselves into what collectors affectionately call a "smiling face," a happy accident of symmetrical design that's become part of the reference's appeal.
This example carries the black "Grande Tapisserie" dial, the deeper, wider-set waffle pattern that distinguishes it from the finer "Petite Tapisserie" texture used on earlier dial variants of this reference. Set in the 36mm steel case with the octagonal bezel and its eight signature screws, on the integrated steel bracelet, it's a genuinely wearable, mid-sized route into AP's complicated Royal Oak output.
