The Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo PAM00671, widely known as the Blue Bronzo, is one of the most charismatic modern Panerai references. Limited to 1,000 pieces, it combines a commanding 47 mm bronze case with a deep blue dial, giving the watch a strong and immediately recognizable identity. It continues the story of Panerai’s celebrated Bronzo models, but with a cooler and more contemporary character thanks to its blue dial.
Bronze is central to the appeal of this reference. Unlike stainless steel, it develops a natural patina over time, meaning each watch slowly becomes unique through wear and exposure. The case, bezel, crown and crown-protecting bridge all share this warm, nautical material character, while the screwed titanium caseback improves comfort against the wrist. With 300 metres of water resistance and a unidirectional rotating bezel, the PAM00671 remains a true Submersible, not simply a decorative bronze sports watch.
The blue dial gives the watch its distinctive personality. It adds depth and contrast to the warm bronze case, creating a richer and more elegant impression than the earlier green-dial Bronzo references. The large luminous markers and dots, date at 3 o’clock and small seconds at 9 o’clock keep the display clear, practical and unmistakably Panerai. The architecture is bold and functional, yet the colour combination gives the model a level of visual sophistication that makes it especially desirable within the Bronzo family.
Powering the watch is the Panerai calibre P.9010, an automatic in-house movement with a three-day power reserve, two barrels and a stop-seconds function. It is a robust and practical calibre, well suited to the scale and purpose of the watch. Delivered originally on a dark brown Ponte Vecchio vintage calf strap with a brushed titanium buckle, the Blue Bronzo has all the ingredients collectors look for in a modern Panerai: limited production, strong material identity, serious water resistance, a manufacture movement and a dial colour that makes the reference instantly stand apart.
