When Patek Philippe launched the Nautilus in 1976, even the box broke with tradition. Instead of the maison's usual leather and wood, the ref. 3700 "Jumbo" arrived in this cork-and-chrome presentation box, its nautical, almost industrial character matching the watch Gérald Genta had drawn. A polished chrome frame carries the "Nautilus" nameplate, the cork-lined interior holds a suede cushion, and the whole thing slides into a burgundy outer case stamped in gold.
These boxes have since taken on a mythology of their own. Far fewer survived than the watches, cork being fragile and packaging easily discarded, so a genuine and complete example is now pursued in its own right by collectors returning a vintage Nautilus to full-set condition, and can command five figures on that basis alone. This is the correct presentation box for the 3700-era Nautilus.
The box is delivered with all items shown in the photographs.
